1-24 BLACK BANDIT TRU EXCLUSIVE

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (February 24, 2009) – The Black Bandit® Collection was first introduced in 2004 as single release premium die-cast cars in 1:64 scale under license to two die-cast model car manufacturers, including GreenLight® Collectibles.  Later, in the Spring of 2008, Black Bandit was transformed into a 6-car set, produced by GreenLight exclusively for distribution to Toys R Us stores nationwide and Hobby Distributors/Wholesalers around the globe.  The next generation of Black Bandit is introduced this month with a four-car 1:24 scale set that is exclusive to Toys R Us.   All TRU stores will have these items in stock by March 1, 2009.

The initial release of 1:24 Black Bandit includes the following four vehicles:

- 1:24 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS Hardtop
- 1:24 1995 Chevrolet Corvette
- 1:24 2007 Shelby GT500
- 1:24 2008 Chevrolet Corvette Z06

All four cars from the initial release are available now at TRU stores and at www.toysrus.com. 

Each Black Bandit car is meticulously produced with a triple-black theme.  Black body paint, black interior detail and custom black wheels are the distinguishing characteristics of these “outlaw” vehicles.  The cars come packaged in Black Bandit window boxes with a foil “TRU Exclusive” badge included on each package.  In addition to the regular versions, Green Machine chase cars represent 2% of the production run for the ’69 Camaro, ’95 Corvette and ’08 Corvette Z06.  Green Machines were not produced for the ’07 Shelby GT500.  Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price on 1:24 Black Bandits is $24.99 per car.
